In preparation for A Level English Literature we would like you to purchase a copy of ‘Othello’ by William Shakespeare and ‘A Streetcar Named Desire’ by Tennessee Williams. We will be starting with these texts in September as they are the two components of Paper 1 – ‘Drama’.
Please read both texts in order to familiarise yourself with plot and character. Do not worry if you do not understand all aspects of the texts – we will teach them thoroughly in the Autumn Term. However, it will be so helpful to arrive in September with a basic knowledge of these texts.
