Once you have completed an Application Form, you will need to log back into your application on GCSE Results Day on Thursday 20th August, and complete and submit the enrolment form before 4pm to officially enroll for sixth form. If you are successful, you will receive a welcome email with all of the starting information that you will need.

Applications

Students complete an application form to register their interest, and to allow us to plan enough classes and construct a timetable which best fits most students subject combinations. You can complete an application form from November, right up until August. You can log in at any point up until results day to update your subject choices. Although we advise you to complete and update your preferred subjects before Tuesday 24th March.

Completing an application form also allows us to keep you informed of upcoming events, such as taster days, and send you instructions and information about enrolment closer to the time. If you have completed an application form prior to enrolment on results day, it will make the process quicker for you.

Enrolment

Students will need to log back in to their completed application form on GCSE results day from 8.30am for internal students and 10am for external students, to complete and submit the Enrolment Form which will then become visible, here you will confirm your subjects, making any changes if needed, and complete your registration for sixth form. We advise all students to complete this before 4pm to avoid disappointment. You will receive an email confirmation once you have submitted your enrolment form, and a second email with welcome and joining information once your enrolment has been processed.

External students will need to have ready electronic copies of their results, ID (e.g. passport), and have to hand any parental contact details and other student information. Having this ready in advance will speed up the process for you. You will need a parent/guardian to sit with you to complete this form.

If you have not completed an Application Form in advance of results day, you can still apply, however you will go straight to complete the Enrolment Form when you sign up.
For any issues or queries, please email year12admissions@calday.co.uk

Oversubscription

In the event that any subjects become full and we need to apply oversubscription criteria, we will do so after 4pm on GCSE results day, anyone registering after this point will not be included in the oversubscription list for any full subjects, and will be added to a waiting list. Therefore we advise that you apply before 4pm. A copy of our oversubscription process from last year can be found here for reference: Oversubscription Protocol A Level 2025 Entry

Options blocks

Once we have received applications, we use student subject choices to construct the option blocks to best fit as many students’ preferences as possible. These will be confirmed in June/July. Not all subject combinations will be possible; we are normally able to accommodate around 97% of student’s first choices within our timetable. We are better able to do so if we have student’s completed applications by the March deadline.

Entry requirements

Entry requirements for sixth form and for your chosen subjects can be found in the Sixth Form Prospectus.
